Last week, Koran Tempo covered one of our interior project in FISIP UI, Mirriam Budiardjo Resource Center (MBRC). The rocketing number of visitors was the main issue, since the renovation strategy was to create more warm and comforting ambiance for people to get information in the old FISIP's library, which was later known as a resource center. A slight change of interior atmosphere has indeed made significant impact on how people work or get their information there.

UI's Admin Center Fresher Look
During his last day of UI's Rector, Prof. dr. Usman Chatib Warsa, SpMK. officially opened the lobby of University of Indonesia Administration Center, with its new fresher look. The renovation focused on creating more lively atmosphere for existing rooms and functions, such as the information counter, cafeteria, musholla, toilets and the professor's lounge. The idea was to let more light illuminates the interior, thus reflecting the colors and materials used in the furnitures and walls. A concept of cleanliness, freshness, and modern office ambiance (dominated by glass and glossy finishing) was emphasized in this lowest floor of PAUI building which allow multiple entrances to the building.
IDEA covers Irman's House
Last July, IDEA has covered Irman's House for its special edition of 20 design inspirations, that mainly discuss many simple ideas that people can apply or have on their home. This edition focuses on dining area, along with its furnitures and layouts, where Irman's offers a semi-open terrace to the garden for family meals.

JDC's new Lux: Urban Scarcity
Recently, we have won the third place for designing the Jakarta Design Center (JDC) facade competition with a rather unusual concept of spatial facade.
Despite the old look of the building and surrounding's irregularity, people would still look for JDC as it has become the only high class design center in Jakarta. We can say, it has a role in the jakarta's design centers network. Thus, the new facade as representative layer is not the issue here.
We prefer to relate the high class value as luxury of which the surrounding people would experienced, socially and architecturally. A luxury that can be sensed as a scarcity in Jakarta; Luxury is clean among the slum; Luxury means distant rather than dense; Luxury means green among concrete. With the minimum budget of the project, we proposed a clean slope of active green garden that limits frontal view towards the building, as well as creates more space for people to interact to and for JDC, in order to gradually relate the people to design that close to their daily activities. A rare feeling to have during a busy day on one of the busiest junction in Jakarta.
